Posts: 14 Location: Sydney Joined: September 23, 2006 | I purchased the Dussun from Hi Fi 86 Hong Kong last August 2006 and now it has stopped playing,there is no power getting to the unit.Have contacted Dussun and Hi Fi 86 asking for a circuit diagram and owners manual in English, without sucess.Neither has replied and I had explained the technician would like a diagram to repair the unit.Has anyone else with a Dussun or Chinese gear had any problems?Does anyone know how to go about getting either the diagram or manual in English from Dussun?Any advice would be appreciated.Thanks |

You bought a Chinese version V8i that runs 220v AC power. Australia has 240v AC power. You were running your V8i under 10% higher voltage. It started the first day with the voltage issue I assume that you know the risk buy from grey market, you are on your own, no one will take care of you. By the way, we are luck that till this point we do not have any returns for repair yet. |

| Hello Pingong, I've always assumed that a -/+ 10% variation in AC power is not that detrimental since components are already manufactured to withstand such variations.Or am i wrong here ? Btw, the Dussun V-8i is a wonderful amplifier. AP | |

If a standard says 240v, any chance it could go to 260v in real run time? A clean and stable AC power source is very important to sound quality and life of the product. | OFF TOPIC: No wonder for a HK company! I had an unfortunate experience with an Italian hi-end company who did not answer my six (6) e-mails and one fax message describing the problem and asking to send me a diagram for my technician, but did not receive a reply! Though this problem has been fixed by the technician, I decided, as a matter of principle, to sell this amp and upgrade it for another unit manufactured by the company that offers excellent service and treats itsd customers in a civilized manner! | |

Enthusiast10 Audiophile Posts: 14 Location: Sydney Joined: September 23, 2006 | Dear Tubers,the temptation to buy Chinese at a fraction of the going rate is very high.For example purchasing a: CD player,speakers,Phono pre amp and amplifier for the same price as say the speakers alone or amp alone would cost in a high end Sydney store(approx $6000 Aust).Perhapse our prices are so high because the market is too small.Anyway the Chinese product - and everything we purchase in Australia is made in China anyhow - seems the way to go in here. |

Posts: 14 Location: Sydney Joined: September 23, 2006 | I had looked into the voltage thing and was informed that a swing of 10% was fine.Dussun do not provide a larger voltage package - or so I was informed by - Hi Fi 86 .Local technicians agreed that 220V would be fine.In fact lots of our electrical items are labeled 220V and run on 240V OK.Anyway I hope my Technician comes up with something.Will let you know. |
