Robes - Most mage builds use robes, but they're especially important with a DP build. All Dragon Priests you find in the game are wearing robes, so you should too! Staff - The staff you use is up to you, but a strong Destruction staff is best. Obviously one of those from a DP is preferred. Dec 20, 2014 THE NAKED MAGE Have you ever wanted to run around Skyrim naked and still have the benefits of the enchanted college robes active? Well now you can. I made this mod for myself specifically to work with Devious Devices mods and Dangerously Nude. And it works like a charm. Kendo2 HOW IT WORKS:For.

The Archmage's Robes are a set of hooded robes that are awarded to you after completing The Eye of Magnus. They provide boosts to all magic based skills except Enchanting, plus bonuses to magicka and magicka regeneration.
Related Quests[edit]
- The Eye of Magnus: Reclaim the College and contain the Eye.
Notes[edit]
Enchantment from the robes is called 'Skein of Magnus' in the CK, but the robes in the game cannot be disenchanted (unless using a specific mod for that).
- Another set of Archmage's Robes without the hood and the 50 magicka point bonus exists in the Creation Kit data (formID
0007c932
, editor IDClothesMGRobesArchmage
). This version of the robes can be found on one of the Heroes of Sovngarde in the Hall of Valor, but Heroes of Sovngarde can't be killed or pickpocketed. One is present in the Arch-Mage's Quarters on a table near the bed, but it is permanently set to 'initially disabled', and thus cannot be obtained.- This issue has been addressed by version 2.0.4 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch; 'Initially disabled' tag has been removed.
Bugs[edit]
- Although the Archmage's Robes are considered to be hooded, they occupy only the 'body' and 'hair' body part slots, but not the 'circlet' body part slot, unlike most other hooded robes. This means that they can be worn simultaneously with circlets or Dragon Priest Masks.
- This bug is fixed by version 2.0.9 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.
- Sometimes you can receive two or even three Archmage's Robes after completing the Eye of Magnus quest.
- Unlike all other mage robes, an NPC follower whose default apparel is clothing or robes (not armor) will equip the Archmage's Robes if given. ?
Are you a fan of the dark arts?
Do you love to summon creatures from the depths of Oblivion?
Are you one of those who prefer to make stuff levitate, or throw weird-looking spells at your enemies? Then you’re probably tired of dressing like a homeless high school teacher in Skyrim.
So in this piece I’m bringing you the ultimate way to reinvigorate your Skyrim mage playthrough: new clothes! Granted we covered clothing mods already, but this list is just focused on you mages.
Now I know mages and battlemages have different styles. So that’s why I’m compiling this list of mods to suit anyone that aims to master the arts of using magicka in Skyrim.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a wizard, a mage, a battlemage, a witch, or a homeless dude with a fashion sense: these mods will be fine additions to your next magical Skyrim adventure.
10. Blood Witch Armor
This intimidating set of armor is meant to be worn by females only, and it gets a spot on my list because of the sheer awesomeness of its aesthetic.
The Blood Witch Armor has a red tone and a set of aesthetic features that give me some creepy BDSM vibes… but the set is super useful, and should look quite good on most characters.
In fact, I’d even suggest you download this set for other non-witch characters.
It’s designed to be worn by witches, but it would actually suit a rogue or thief quite well, too.
9. Raven Witch Armor
The Raven Witch Armor set is, without a single shadow of a doubt, the most badass-looking set of female witch armor in the game.
If you intend to play a female wizard and you want her to sustain a decent amount of damage, all without compromising her stylish looks, then the Raven Witch Armor mod is something you’ll want.
Also, this set looks exactly like one of those Ultra HD sets of armor that people often created in Oblivion… you know, the ones that caused old computers to implode whenever you equipped them.
Good times.
8. Tribunal Robes and Mask
This one is just too damn good.
Tribunal Robes & Mask comes with three different sets of armor that range from regular clothes to heavy equipment. And they all look fantastically well done.
They also seem quite intimidating, as they all include masks and hoods that give you that vibe of “I’m going to summon a Dremora to murder you and take your spirit to fill my soul stones”.
If you want your mage character to strike fear into the hearts of even the most powerful foes, well you’ve found the mod that you’re looking for.
7. Divine Elegance Store
This one adds a store with dozens of new sets of clothing to the game.
Even though most of the sets are not really designed to be specifically worn by mages, many of the clothes look quite good on Skyrim spellcasters.
Give them a try and see which one better suits your style!
6. Field Mage Retexture
This mod is actually a retexture of Echo’s mod. But given that this one looks better than the original, I’m putting it on my list instead of its counterpart.
Don’t worry though, you can find the link to the original mod right here.
As is often customary with female sets of armor in RPGs, these robes have just the amount of clothes to fall on the lighter side.
Regardless, the clothing model looks good and it’s made to look even better thanks to the retexture.
5. Dragon Bone Mage Armor
I firmly believe that this set should’ve been in the base game.
But I’m glad that someone took the time to create it and incorporate it into Skyrim anyway.
Dragon Bone Mage Armor is a high-level set of dragon equipment, which will make your character look like a badass wizard and a Comic-Con cosplayer at the same time.
I mean that as a compliment, of course.
4. ZZJay’s Wardrobe
This lore-friendly mod is similar to the Divine Elegance Store.
Skyrim Mage Robe Mods
It adds a ton of new clothing to the game that all look incredible.
And these clothes all really look good with vanilla clothing, and doesn’t feel out of place in Skyrim either.
All pieces of equipment are meant to be worn by female characters, and many of them do a good job of replacing basic mage robes too.
Enchant any of these pieces and give your character a few extra layers of depth – even when they aren’t wearing their most powerful sets!
3. Hedge Mage Armor
When it comes to modded light armor mage sets, this one takes the cake as the best one I’ve managed to find.
It just provides such a fantastic aesthetic balance between leather clothing and mage robes. I can’t help but feel like nominating it to a medieval fashion show.
Skyrim Se Robes Mod
In any case, the Hedge Mage Armor set comes in 9 different colors and it’s meant to be exclusively worn by female characters (much like many of the clothing here!)
Skyrim Mage Clothes Mod
2. Black Mage Armor
Care to look like a Daedric cultist?
With this set of armor, you’ll resemble one of those crazy dudes who would sacrifice a cow to please Sheogorath… but trust me, it’s an absolutely gorgeous set of equipment.
It can be worn by females and males, plus it suits all mage playstyles in the base game.
Robes, light armor, and heavy armor are all included within this mod. So pick your poison and get to it!
1. Daedric Mage Armor
Now I’m sorry, but this set of armor far outdoes any other Daedric piece of equipment in Skyrim. Holy crap.
This looks astonishingly good and should fit the playstyle of any mage, wizard, battlemage, you name it.
This is the ultimate set of mage armor if you’re going for mods.
Check this out and I suggest giving it a try right from the start of your next save file.
