Surviving on an Alien Sea. Subnautica is a sandbox or open-world game that is very similar to classics like Minecraft or The Forest. The twist is that the adventure takes place beneath the ocean of an alien planet. You can download the game from Steam in Early Access format, a sort of developmental demo. Despite its being treated as a 'demo', so to speak, you can't download it for free.

About This Game:
Subnautica is a visually beautiful undersea survival and exploration game set in an alien world and created by the aptly named Unknown Worlds, the developers behind the excellent Natural Selection 2.
The game begins with you crash landing in the ocean of an unknown planet and all you have is a small escape pod with some first aid materials and a small crafting table. You must venture out into the ocean, far from shore, and gather as many materials as you can to build survival gear and cook food. The most interesting thing about this game is that the game teaches you how to do pretty much nothing. You have as much knowledge as your actual character does. You feel like this character, the game doesn’t hold your hand or teach you much. It’s up to you to figure everything out.
